"I was impressed with David from the very beginning. He came prepared with prior jobs as references, reviewed options as well as what he felt would work best for my needs. His bid was the lowest, but it was not why I selected him for the job. I felt comfortable with his experience and knowledge. I was not disappointed! His crew showed up as stated to first clean the house. When painting day came they were at the house on time. They maintained a clean work area at all times. When they finished the job there was no drips, spots, missed areas anywhere. The house looked wonderful with sharp clean lines between house base and trim. "It started with a referral from Red Beacon. I chose 3 bidders. David's bid was competitive and the write up estimate was the most detailed and professional looking. He provided referrals, as well as I got referrals from Yelp. David and his team painted the exterior of my home. He communicated what to expect. Any areas that needed some additional attention, he took care of. In addition, I asked him if he could fix our sticking utility door and gate. And he took care of it! "They responded really fast to my request for service (some companies I sent messages to took over a week to reply). I like the fact that the estimator who came out to see the job is the painter himself, so I could feel confident that he knew what he was talking about. They painted the house, freestanding garage and separate shed and agreed to use 3 colors instead of 2. They cleaned up every day. "I came to know about Legacy Painting Contractors through the job they completed on my neighbor's house. After making initial contact with David, he personally visited our house to provide the initial estimate. David was on-time (within 2-3 minutes) of his scheduled appointment time. David is extremely polite and considerate. He answered all of my questions thoroughly. Quotation was sent to me via email within 2 days of his initial visit. Legacy painting's quotation was very price competitive to other quality painters in the market. Lead time for starting the job was around 6 week, however this is mainly because of the fact that these guys are very popular and they are booked way in advance... "I watched Legacy Painting paint the house next to me. I went over during the job and asked for a quote. After the job was complete I went and "inspected" that house next door. I was very impressed at the attention to detail and let me tell you I am a VERY picky person. After checking that house, didn't even get another estimate. I simply called and asked when I could get on the schedule. Dave and Judy were very easy to work with. Judy even helped me with some "design" as the wife was out of town and I needed some help deciding on accent colors. I can't say enough about how happy I am with the exterior house painting job. Mine also had that same level of detail. The crew were very courteous and efficient. The job was completed in 2.5 days. Dave came back and did a walk around and honestly, as much as I looked, I couldn't find one spot that needed attention. You won't be disappointed if you choose these folks to paint your house." Homeowner: "Legacy came to our home and spent time making notes to put together a bid. We were impressed with their knowledge and suggestions. Unfortunately we never received a bid or call back. If they did not want to do the job just say so! If you would prefer to do only homes in San Ramon or Livermore then don't come out to Castro Valley. Very unprofessional."

Our reply: "I apologize that you did not receive our estimate via email. If we had known you had not received it, we would have resent it in a timely manner. We apologize for the inconvenience. There are many good painting companies in this area so we assume your house painting has been completed by now and that you are happy with the results. It was a pleasure meeting with you and we wish you the very best on your future house projects." "Went very well. Legacy painters were communicating and were in constant touch from the time of the estimate to the time they showed up at my door for work. They clearly explained the nuances with various options. And all three days during the painting, they were very professional. Took time to review the work with us multiple times during the day. Did multiple coats on the trims and walls. Owner, David, is very meticulous and was always there during the work performed. He pays special attention and is very detail oriented. "Legacy painted the exterior of a home I have in Pleasanton. I however live in Los Angeles. It's hard to have anything done like this long distance. Legacy did a fantastic job painting the house. They surpassed my expectations with the quality of their work. they were less expensive than the other quotes I had gotten. They communicated with me during the entire process via emails and phone calls. they took pictures before and after and sent them. They set me color selections and actually ended up having to match a color for me. It's rare to find a company like this these days who will actually go the extra mile to make sure their customer is happy and Legacy did that and more. "Dave provided a very competitive bid that I felt delivered the best value versus the other painting contractors. I contacted Dave/Legacy Painting after seeing the results on a neighboring home on my street. Got my bid in a day or so and then Dave was able to squeeze in my job within the same week. Dave did not disappoint. They did a great job prepping the house which consisted of power washing, sealing the cracks in the stucco, replacing some fascia that was rotted and digging out about 2-3 inches around the base of the home. The following day Dave arrived promptly at about 7:30-8:00 am and completed most of the painting in one day. He came back again at 8 am on a second day and completed the second coat on some trim.

The whole process was stress free, he clearly knows his craft and everything was done very much to my satisfaction. He was very responsive by both phone and text. He cleaned up everything, there were no paint drips or splatter on my pavers (driveway, walkway and patio) to be found. To top it all off, Dave was a super nice guy to chat with. Before leaving he said "just because I am paid doesn't mean that I am finished. Let me know if you find anything that needs to be touched up".

I was so happy with Dave/Legacy that I told him to leave his sign up for an extra week in my yard. Great Job, Great Value, Great Person! What more can you ask for? I highly recommend Dave/Legacy Painting." (Subscribed members can view comment on Angie's List)

"The reason I hired Legacy Painting was two fold, they had very competitive prices (actually the lowest of 3 bids), and David the owner just seemed like a good, down-to-earth guy. "Dave was fantastic. He painted the exterior of our house. Showed up when he said he would (am I the only one who is amazed when contractors don't show up when they promise to). Courteous, conscientious and worked hard. He was competitively priced too.

The work he did was great.

Two things absolutely above and beyond 1: He was working across the street and from their roof noticed he missed a spot on our home. We would never have known, nor would anyone else, and yet David came over, climbed up a ladder, and fixed the small spot. 2: The siding on our house contracted a small bit, and left streaks of the old color wherever there were joints between two pieces of siding. Dave came over and climbed his ladder and fixed the joints. The issue was absolutely no fault of his, and yet he fixed it on his own dime.I highly recommend Legacy Painting.
